CBL Terminal Expected Schedule

Maine DOT Pile Driving begins on Chandler’s Wharf March 3 or 4, 2025

Pilings under the wharf will be replaced during the month of March. Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday, 7am – 5pm. This phase will be finished by the end of March.

After the pilings are replaced, work will continue to replace heavy timbers on the wharf. MDOT expects this work to last about 4 months, though weather can play a role in schedule changes.

Car traffic will be limited to the top 30’ of the dock, closest to the parking area. Any freight that cannot be easily brought to the vehicle access area will receive assistance from the construction crew.

There is no anticipated disruption to pedestrian ferry service or freight delivery smaller than 7’. Bancroft, the marine contractor, will work with Casco Bay Lines and the Town of Chebeague Island to make sure ferry traffic is as unimpacted as possible during this project.

IMPORTANT: No vehicles can be transported by Casco Bay Lines during this work. If you need to bring a vehicle to or from Chebeague Island, please plan to use alternative barging companies (Chebeague Transportation Company or Lionel Plante).

Please call Town Office with any questions.
